The motorcycle hall of fame museum, the leading museum of motorcycling history in America, has announced its next major motorbike exhibition. "Motocross America." the first-ever comprehensive perspective of this popular and action-packed sport, debuts in March 2005. Tracing the development of motocross from its 1920s roots in Europe to today's "extreme" expressions of the sport, it counts wildly popular AMA super cross and freestyle events. This unique motorbike exhibition will be designed for the museum's 8,000-square- foot main gallery. From the famous names and faces that shaped motocross in America to the machines, technology and gear that helped transform raw riding talent into world champions, "motocross America" will present some of the most adrenaline-charged chapters in America motorcycling record, Motorcycle hall of fame museum. From trophies, photographs and autographs to early on riding gear-such as goggles, gloves, motorbike helmets and protectors, we encourage personal collectors to contacts us about lending any items that could help us show the growth of the sport. As with all motorcycle hall of fame museum exhibitions, the stories behind the hardware will create an unforgettable and unique visitor experience. This museum brings the legends to life. The Stamford (Connecticut) museum is a vital cultural and educational resource, and nature center is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the protection and interpretation of art, the natural and agricultural sciences, and history. The museum will host a vintage motorcycle exhibition tracing the MV Augusta brand from its world war 2nd beginning to today with a focus on motorcycle culture. The motorbike exhibition, called "the motorcycle, Italian style: riding the curves with MV Augusta" will be on display from September 8, 2007 through January 6, 2008. It started with a member's opening welcome, to be seized on Friday, September 7, 2007. Member of the museum get free entry; others can see the MV Augusta exhibition for the normal entry fees: adult $8, seniors and students $6, children (4-17) years $4, under 3 free. The museum also announced another connected program: the easy condition Italian style festival, which was held on Sunday, September 9, 2007 starting at 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All motorcycle, village and new, are welcome at this mega-festival to kick up the fall period. This will be an outdoor show to celebrate the culture of the motorcycle in relation with the motorbike exhibition.
Visitors will have a chance to meet the 2006 Bonneville land speed record holder Roosevelt "Rosey" lackey, and get his autograph, while the bike itself will be on display in the museum. This event will charge $5.00 for anyone on a motorcycle and for museum members, Italian-American club members, and children 4-17. Lannucci's decided the motorcycle to lend to the museum.
